If you’ve been following my paperless office experiment, you might be interested in Fujitsu’s new ScanSnap model. The S1500M for Mac and S1500 for Windows looks to replace the 500 line. Most of the specs are similar, but the 1500s have some more advanced paper handling and sensing to prevent double feeds.
Got my ScanSnap S1500 today and already love it. The scanner works like a charm. Although it’s small from the outside, it shows the inner values immediately. Fast scanning and easy to handle.
Thanks for a great blog! I have one question about the quality of the scan on this machine:
Does it pick up that fine print which is often on contracts/bills/statements? I would love to go this route, but the scanner/printer/copier I have only will get the smaller fonts on the slooooowest settings – takes forever to scan each piece.

@Tina – The 510m gets everything I need. It may depend on how fine the print is. I think the high resolution is 600 DPI which should give you a lot of detail.

Need help, please. If I buy the s1500 w/bundle, can I put my scanned papers on a cd or memory stick?
@Ronda – You should be able to put pretty much any file on a memory stick or CD regardless of where they come from.
