    Sync Calendar and Address Book

    By Mark Shead 2 Comments

Quick Tip: Keeping your calendar and address book synchronized between you and your spouse’s computers has a lot more benefits than it initially appears.  Apple’s .mac service does this well.  Plaxo is another great tool for accomplishing this as well.

I am currently using BusySync (http://www.busymac.com/) to sync my local calendar with my google calendar. Though I do not use this feature, it also allows the syncing of calendars over a LAN. I am very happy with it and the developers have mentioned plans to support syncing of contacts to Gmail–a feature I am very interested in.

Though not free, the program retails for $25, which is a bargain compared to some of the other options (.Mac, other shareware). Of course, .Mac offers many more features…

Google will let you sync Outlook to your online calendar. I found ActiveSync to be a dysfunctional PITA with psychopathic tendencies, but PocketMirror does the job ActiveSync claimed to do.
