"Personally though, I know that my performance is sometimes influenced by how I’m dressed. If I get dressed for business and feel business-like, I function better than if it is 1pm and I’m still working in my pajamas."

I remember before you said that one must never make decisions based on how you feel.

Before you were talking about cars and hybrids and doing cost-benefit analysis, giving tips on how to minimize costs and encouraging readers to ignore marketing, emotions, etc. If you carried the same attitude you had to car to clothes then you'd wear old second-hand tracksuits to work, but instead your clothes are bought based on imagery, emotion, and status, so maybe you should acknowledge that car buying look at these things too when buying cars.

Quite true - In my case I switched careers from programming (*very* informal dress code) to consulting, and realized right away I'd need business clothing. I think of my new wardrobe as by "superhero" costume - it changes my attitude!

Even if I'm studying at home, I usually dress up a bit. It helps me take myself more seriously.

I wrote something similar just over a year ago - Dress Smarter: Work Smarter</a> I find that if I'm dressed casually then my attitude to work becomes casual which is not good at all!
