There are several websites that have very comprehensive travel checklist, I just do a quick search on Google before traveling to Gatlinburg or whatever my destination may be. I lose it evertime so I do a search for travel checklist each time.

I have different checklists for different destinations (camping, hotel, travel with kids, etc). These lists have saved the day plenty of times.

The stuff most often forgotten is the little things. It's not my passport or travel documents, it's more likely to be my toothbrush.
Instead of a list, I have an extra set of essential toiletries & stuff (cell phone charger, etc.) in my travel bag. So all I need to do is add clean clothes and I'm ready to go.

The trick is to replenish when things run out and not be tempted to raid the travel stash. :)
