Well I might be the only one – but I don’t like the new “look and feel” of T3.
I don’t really have enough experience with its functionality but the screen is becoming too cluttered . Functions all used to be on the top drop down now some have been moved to the “reading window” a-la webmail.
The top toolbar can be customized but things just don’t feel right any more IMHO -m

could not find add-ons for 3.0 which would help with gmail integration. The popular ones rejected as not ready for 3.0 Can you suggest?

I feel I need to draw your attention to a multitude of users reporting unacceptably slow performance of Thunderbird 3. Some have returned to previous versions. Mozilla claim they are working on solutions.

What if I don’t -want- all incoming emails to funnel into one collective inbox? Is there a way to disable that “feature”?

OK, I feel like a jerk for posting this, but please don’t call Thunderbird a “service”. It is, as you so correctly stated, “an open source desktop email client”. There is, however no service component involved. You need your own server or email service provider to host you incoming email.

GMail, Hotmail and other ARE services, as they also include the storage, backup and server-side management of your email. Thunderbird is an email application – period.

Otherwise, I have no objections – have used Thunderbird for years, great application! v3 looks even better.
