This is exactly what I do atleast 1 or 2 times a week (usually more) at the bookstore. I feel the books are up-to-date and I start at whatever section of the book store that floats my boat that particular day, reading paragraphs from different books on different topics and it is so amazing how much one can learn in an hour or so, just by browsing in this manner. Similar to channel surfing on the television, only with books with no commercials or advertising!! I find that this keeps me interested and helps me strengthen the habit!! I used to think I didn't have the time to do this, but that's because I never really made an effort. I also spend a good amount on purchases when possible. Usually on the books that I've browsed.

Many libraries have a shelf where they place recently returned books until they have the time to place it in the correct section. Have a look at this shelf! It might give you some new ideas on interesting library sections that you have never thought of before!
