If I'm just answering email, I can even do that on my Blackberry. But if I get a call saying that there is a problem with a client's ERP system, I have to have internet access to get in and check it out. The types of tasks that I can do offline are the non-emergency type stuff, but I was able to do that before getting the EVDO card. @Logan – Yes. Everything is cloud-based? The phone wouldn't work for any of this? Interesting work-style. I actually like commuting as my brain goes "ahhh, can't work. can relax."
