This occurs with jobs, relationships, exercise routines, the way we drive to work, the side of the bed we sleep on, even diets work at first, and then the body begins to adapt to the change and progress slows down to a halt.
It is very difficult to embrace constant change without outside help, a mentor, teacher and or a coach but it must be done to remain flexible, creative and new. Its not easy...becoming comfortable with discomfort..my current challenge is alternating hot and cold showers..
I find it makes me feel very refreshed when I do it but it is extremely uncomfortable.

The human psyche, body mind and spirit, thrives on adapting by becoming comfortable with routine situations. Best, Chris

I liked what you said about seeing the job as a stepping stone — when I left my law firm, I did some more “menial” contract legal jobs, and I found it helpful in staying motivated to remember the larger purpose behind them — to finance the creation of my book and coaching practice. Inertia is seductive and deadly. Over-specialization can be another aspect of inertia.

The prospect of not continuing to learn new things and accomplish new skills terrifies me. Most people stop when the going to gets tough, But the tough are the ones who keep going.
Never count yourself out, but say to yourself i can do it. Why? because you truly can. All thoughts of difficult are in your mind. See the end result in your mind and you will be surprised by how easy difficult things truly are.

Conditioning your mind to appreciate difficult, because it creates personal growth which can help you succeed indefinitely.
